San Marino Halloween Edition

Among ghosts and spirits of the spooky Republic

Halloween a San Marino

With the arrival of Autumn the enchanting setting of San Marino changes into a Gothic and spooky scenary offering unusual itineraries among the less-known and suggestive corners of the Republic. The Three Towers that stand on the summit of Monte Titano draw a spooky outline surrounded by a dense fog. The dizziness produced by the overhanging cliff and the sinister force of the mount affect even the most reckless visitor.

You can reach the First Tower Guaita walking from the medieval centre along the city wall; to get to the Second Tower Cesta you have to go through the impressive Passo Delle Streghe (Passage Of The Witches) a path suspended over the cliff that hosts mysterious phenomena and supernatural spirits. At Cesta Tower, on the summit of the mountain, the visitor can feel the thrill of the Gothic scenary that will follow him up to the last tower, Montale.

You can hear terrifying, dark and murky spirits at the most cruel and disquieting exposition of the world: the Torture Museum of San Marino shows more than 100 instruments of torture, whose cruelty affects even the least impressionable visitor, making him shiver. Spirits and disturbing presences haunt the Gallery of the Railway too, that connected San Marino to Rimini. The railway, that worked only for a few years, was destroyed during the Second World War: since then it was abandoned among tracks that emerge from the ground, gravel paths and terrifying echoes of the past.
